Why a titanium liner beats a coated one

Most insulated bottles use a steel liner with an interior coating. That coating is a thin film, and thin films fail at the edges first - around the shoulder, near the lid thread, at the base. A titanium liner is solid metal all the way through, so there is no film to fail and no exposed steel where it does.

Half a litre is a full morning of water and still fits a side pocket. At 300 g you notice the water, not the bottle.

Care

Hand wash with warm water. Leave the lid off to dry - a sealed bottle stored wet is how insulated bottles start to smell, whatever the liner is made of.

Common questions

How much does it hold?: It holds 500 ml / 16.9 fl oz. Leave a little headroom if a lid, straw or tea strainer is fitted, as the stated capacity is measured to the rim.
Is every part made of titanium?: Not necessarily. The liner and shell are described on this page as titanium. Lids, straws, seals and other components use the materials listed in the specifications and may be plastic or silicone. We do not claim the whole product is solid titanium.
How should I clean it?: Hand wash with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Do not microwave titanium or put it on a stove. Rinse any lid, straw or strainer separately and let every part dry before storing.
Do you publish insulation hours?: No. We describe the double-wall or insulated construction, but we do not claim a tested number of hours for heat or cold retention. Treat the wall as a design feature, not a performance guarantee.
